Green Heron Bed & Breakfast Grand Rapids MN
The Green Heron Bed and Breakfast is located on beautiful Pokegama Lake in the North-woods of Minnesota. Just minutes from Grand Rapids, we’re a cozy inn, open year round, with an old European country feel and modern American amenities. When you come down the drive you’ll find it hard to believe you were just in town, and are only minutes away from bike and ski trails, snowmobile trails, golf courses, fishing or paddling, hiking, and shopping.
We have two very comfortable guest rooms, each with private baths, views of the lake and easy access to our fantastic sandy beach. Included during your stay is a full breakfast, use of kayaks, canoe and fire pit on the beach. You can play badminton on the beach, and tennis or pickle ball in the front. There’s mooring available if you rent a boat from town or have your own, and a grill if you’d like to cook your catch. Inside there is a beautiful library with a variety of music, books, movies and games for you to enjoy, or just escape to. If you must work during your stay, the library houses basic office equipment you may use. Internet access/ Wi-Fi is available throughout the house.
Gardens surround the house and provide for lots of bird watching. Depending on the season and time of day you may experience visits from our resident bald eagles, great blue herons, loons and many other ducks, a variety of woodpeckers and our namesake…green herons, which nest in and visit our woods, beach and yard often.
Pokegama is a lake with many personalities. Morning and evening paddles, or fishing jaunts can be so soothing, especially when the lake is like glass. Other times you can experience the excitement of fishing tournaments, fireworks displays, hockey tournaments, snowmobiling, ice skating, snow shoeing, boiling maple syrup…the list goes on and on.
Innkeepers, Chris and Johnnie Fulton, look forward to meeting you and helping you have the perfect vacation that you’ll want to make a tradition. We do want you to note that we have resident pets and occasionally accept pets as guests.
